It’s OK!

My life as a young person in Ancoats is okay. For instance, I go to the AMP Project, which is a project for young people. Martina, Mike and Cam are the youth workers. They like us to do activities that will help us in life. But on the whole there’s not much to do in Ancoats.

When I am twenty to thirty my life will probably be the same only I’ll be older and more mature. I won’t stand around in the streets with my mates. I might have my own place to live and I may have kids. I think I will still live in Ancoats.

I get on fine with older people, for example Grace who lives near me; I always go and talk to her and go to the shop for her. I like Grace, she is nice. There are quite a few old people who live round my way. James’ nana lives next door to me. She’s nice and I think that she likes living there.

I think grandmas and granddads are very important, to me anyway, and to most other people that I know. They can tell us what their life was like when they were young or what Ancoats used to be like.
