Our home poem

Have Your Say is our local magazine
It isn’t all about flash cars and limousines
Some say the future is easy to see
because you can do what you want to do
and be who you want to be
Our local youth clubs are not that good
but kids seem to come from all over the neighbourhood
the youth workers we work with are quite all right
Though sometimes They don’t turn up during the day or night Miles Platting is the area we all grew up in
It’s got everything around here from tennis to swimming
Our area can seem tough and bleak
sometimes a day can seem like a week,
lots of crime, drugs and beer,
old ladies and kids live in fear
the community as a whole at the end of the year
should all reunite to overcome this fear
the police station to kids is common place
whatever you do there’s a copper on your case
We don’t think this is wrong but don’t think its right
we should all stick together keep close and tight
Miles Platting is where we all belong
‘Til we die, is the famous song
We’ve got to go, got to move on
our days on the streets will soon be gone
Come to Miles Platting and we will treat you right
we’re one big family and we’re staying close and tight.
